**If warmed to 86 degrees Aspartame breaks down before entering your body, increasing the chances of side effects. Never eat or drink something with Aspartame in it if it has been heated or cooked!! America is seeing a tremendous increase in seizures. Phenylalanine in Aspartame lowers the seizure threshold in the brain and blocks serotonin production. This allows grand mal seizures to occur in people. In 1969, the effects of Aspartame were studied by a company owned by Monsanto. Dr. Harry Waisman studied seven infant monkeys that were fed the chemical in their milk. Five of the seven had grand mal seizures. Also, researchers have found that lowered levels of serotonin in the brain induce insomnia, depression, paranoia, and anxiety. Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology surveyed 80 people who suffered from seizures after eating or drinking products with Aspartame. The Institute said, "These 80 documented cases meets the FDA's own definition of an imminent hazard to public health, which requires the FDA to expeditiously remove a product form the market". 80% of the complaints to the FDA on food or food additives are due to the side effects of Aspartame. Omni Magazine published an article in February, 1994 which said, "51% of FDA approved drugs have serious post-approval risks and could cause adverse reactions that lead to severe or permanent disability or DEATH!" So, why doesn't the FDA protect the American public? It has more to do with money than wellness! Monsanto, the company that distributes Aspartame, receives $1 billion in profit annually. FDA could stand for "Fatal Drugs Allowed" if there is enough $$$. Aspartame is found in thousands of foods on the market today. It is in jello, koolaid, candy, ice cream (all the good stuff), calorie restricted foods, and even children's vitamins. On July 28, 1993, the National Soft Drink Association drafted a 30 page protest, questioning the safety of Aspartame in soft drinks. They soon forgot their objections when they realized that weight-conscious Americans would sip soda all day if it was calorie free. Unfortunately, formaldehyde is stored in fat cells and Aspartame causes increased cravings for carbohydrates. So drink diet soda and eat diet foods with Aspartame, get fat now; and later develop seizures, anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, alzheimers disease, and eventually death. Aspartame
is also known as Equal, NutraSweet, or Spoonful. It is a molecule made
up of three components: Aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and methanol.
Once Aspartame is swallowed the methanol (wood alcohol) converts to
formic acid (an ant sting poison) and formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is
a deadly neurotoxin, a common embalming fluid, and a Class A Carcinogen.
A Class A Carcinogen is the most deadly rating a chemical can receive.
There are 90 documented side effects which can occur after ingesting
Aspartame.
